Ducks In A Row is sort of a cross between Tic-Tac-Toe and chess for young children. Pieces (the ducks) start off in fixed positions on the board, which are not strict rows but are an unusual, intermingled arrangement of both players' pieces, and players try to move their ducks into alignment so they have four across to win the game. Ducks can move in any direction any number of spaces but can't pass by each other, making blocking and outflanking important elements of gameplay.
Pieces are plastic but not flimsy, board is heavy cardboard with a glossy finish to the brightly-colored design. This game is likely to be of some interest to kids age three and up and kids over five will get the most out of it.
Reasonably priced at $11.
