I just did something I never thought I'd do: I added a product to the
ZRecs Guide, wrote a description about its use of polycarbonate, flagged it as containing BPA and with "High" confidence, and gave it five stars, pushing it into our category of around 100 "top pick" recommendations.
I'm not sure travel mugs are what you think of searching for in guide to "Safer Children's Products," but when you bring teenagers into the equation, well, they drink tea and coffee, don't they? We'll be adding some safer travel mugs - and a few unsafe ones - to the Guide in the next few weeks, as well as a couple of other new product categories we're working on.

That cup is a great idea!
I saw that in my catalog I just got and I was so happy to see it. I wonder if they take donations? Because I felt horrible about what happened to my old Nalgene bottles.
I was confused by your post, for a second… I just couldn’t wrap my mind around why you would recommend a product containing BPA--until I clicked on the link.
What a great idea! I was wondering what would happen to all the plastic bottles stores are no longer selling.
Now I just need to find a good deal on a reverse osmosis filtering syster to get rid of the fluoride in our drinking water, and I’ll be able to sleep at night (I don’t get it--you’re not supposed to give children regular toothpaste because of fluoride, yet I’m supposed to give it to my baby in her bottle because it’s in our water supply??)
