Recycling crayons: An easy and fun toddler activity

Recycling crayons: An easy and fun toddler activity
Teensygreen recently reminded us of a very simple toddler activity that makes use of an otherwise wasted resource: Broken or worn-down crayons. Muffin tins and a 170-degree oven are all you need, but Stefani has helpful step-by-step instructions over on Teensygreen.

What's your favorite simple toddler activity these days?

Another great way to do this is to use candy molds! My sister in law made new crayons for my son by heating the old broken ones in an old pot and pouring them into candy molds. She separated the colors so he would have single color crayons, but multi-colored are great, too. I’ve also seen a tip in a magazine where you can make cute valentines by just using red, purple, pink, etc. and making heart shapes. Tape the cooled heart shaped crayon to a piece of cardstock with the words - “You color my world, Valentine!”
