When I was little I was obsessed with those
sliding puzzle games - now I'm nuts over
Rush Hour Jr.
The game consists of a small tray, 16 different types of vehicles, and a set of puzzle cards. To play the game, you set up the board according to your card and shift vehicles around until your ice cream truck can drive out the exit of the play tray. At age 4 this game is a bit complex for Z to play but we think it's a great logic puzzler for kids aged 6 and up.
(And I might have to check out the
adult version for game night!)
This is a fantastic game - DS (almost 6) has been playing the adult version for almost a year. First he just played with the cars, but now he actually works on the puzzles. The Jr. version is my go to gift for kids around 5/6. The adult version is fun, too (DH got it for a gift years ago, before kids). I saw in the teacher store that they also have a safari version and a train edition - I think one may appear under our tree this year!
My son has loved this game since before he even turned 2! Clearly, he used it differently then intended, but now that he’s 3, he loves to “help” his older cousin solve the real puzzles. Great fun!
