Car seat maker Britax controls its retail prices with strict retailer agreements and discounts them twice a year for two weeks; one of those
Semi-Annual Sales began yesterday and runs through February 15. (Any deals you see at other times of year are either for seats with discontinued fabric options - a good way to get a deal in its own right - or are grounds for the company to get shut out of Britax.)
Britax has a few fantastic choices, and the sale discounts - in most cases it's around $50 off - make this a great time to buy a seat you'll need anytime in the next six or seven months. We highly recommend the Regent, the Frontier, and the Boulevard CS based on personal experience; most recently, we have been testing the Boulevard CS over the last couple of months.
Britax had one small
safety hiccup recently with the Frontier, but it required a simple part that should be included on the seat if you buy one now. and they're at the
forefront of safer car seat design, including evolving side impact technology that's absent from many U.S. car seats.
We'll post our review of the Boulevard "Click & Safe" (CS) tomorrow. If you're looking to buy, though, here's a spoiler:
It rocks.
