From now until Dec. 23, you can expect a new product review on Z Recommends every weekday, in addition to whatever industry commentary, parenting topic, or news item we might post.
We're also beginning to publish our best archival posts in the daily mix. We republished a few well-trafficked posts when we launched, under the date of their original publication; we've since decided this is a bit confusing, and it also wastes the opportunity to share some of our favorite products and personal stories with our newer readers. If you're a longtime reader and don't want to revisit these, note that they'll all be prefaced with "From the archives" in their titles.
With these two initiatives combined - daily new reviews plus frequent archival reviews, combined with whatever reporting we're up to - we'll be looking at 2-3 posts a day, including something on weekends. We're going to try to keep up with our weekend
link roundups on Z Recommends, pointing out some of the great content for parents we see on other blogs throughout the week. We're also going to give weekend posting on two other blogs, Polliwogged and The Tranquil Parent, a shot, and will be starting to do more hands-on product reviewing on Gardenaut, Polliwogged, and The Tranquil Parent. We'll be hosting the traveling
Carnival of the Green next week on the Tranquil Parent, which we'll publish on Monday. If you aren't sure what a blog carnival is, check out last week's COTG run on
Fake Plastic Fish.
We're polishing up the rest of our gift guides this week and will roll them out over the weekend and into next week. Each one will have some giveaways tied to it, some for bloggers willing to post a small badge to help promote the gift guides, and some for readers to enter via comment or email. All of them will have a reader gift recommendation component, and we'll use suggestions collected from that effort to produce a final, reader "curated" gift guide for the entire network. We'll publish that shortly after Thanksgiving.
