Win a pair of Munchie Mugs!

The folks at Munchie Mug have generously offered to give four Munchie Mugs away to Z Recommends readers, and we've decided to send them out as two two-packs. If you have already bought one, or two, or seven, feel free to enter anyway - the new product we recently called "the best snack holder ever" would make a great gift for other little ones in your life, and their parents will thank you!

The designer also mentioned that the tall lip around the rim of the Munchie Mug was designed to help prevent tiny kiddie hands from holding open the nylon flaps to dump snacks out. At four, Z has no problem beating the system, but we bet that feature is designed for kids in the one- to two-year age range.

To enter to win two Munchie Mugs, valued at $25 for the pair (they sell for $12.50 apiece, plus $3 shipping), comment on this post with the first thing you'll stock them with for your little munchers.

Official rules: One entry per person. Only U.S. residents who are 18 or older are eligible. No purchase necessary. Deadline for entry is 1:00 p.m. CT on Oct. 13, 2008. Winner will be selected on or around Oct. 14. Winner will be contacted via email and winner's name will be posted to PRIZEY Winners; failure to respond within five business days with a valid U.S. mailing address will result in prize being awarded to an alternate. Neither ZRecs nor our prize sponsor can be held responsible for lost or misdirected mail.

1. Rebekah [10/07/08]

I will fill them with Cheerios for baby’s first finger food!

2. Jane [10/07/08]

I will fill them with homemade gorp - natural chocolate candy, natural cereal, natural crackers, raisins, pretzels, and probably some teddy grahams.

Did anyone hear about the Chinese chocolate? I’m trying to find out where my candy sprinkles are made.

Also, I’m dissatisfied with the pretzels I buy. Where are all the whole wheat pretzels? I’ve found only one whole wheat pretzel - it was okay. Not very yummy. Possibly the oils in it went bad. Maybe that’s why pretzels are usually made of white flour!

3. Amanda [10/07/08]

I’ll promptly stock them up with Kashi Heart to Heart, our favorite cereal.

4. Karen [10/07/08]

Hmm… how about dried cranberries & pistachios.

5. Lisa [10/07/08]

I will fill them with whole wheat goldfish or mini organic chocolate chip cookies.  My son is a snacker :)

6. Erika [10/07/08]

14. Rosanna [10/07/08]

49. Leeanthro [10/07/08]

I’ll stock it with Cheerios or Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies and hand it off to my niece.

When we babysat her last, the two toddlers took turns handing the Munchie Mug back and forth and eating their snacks. It was cute.

I would love to win this to give to them, because I’m certainly not giving ours up!

50. jen [10/07/08]

trader joe’s orange cranberries or their schoolhouse cookies.  or puffs.  or pirate’s booty.  or cheerios.  or shreaded wheat squares or…

51. Diania [10/07/08]

Cheerios of course, every toddlers favorite!

52. Laura [10/07/08]

67. Jess [10/07/08]

Cherrios, Kix, Funky Munky fruit, maybe even grapes!  I’ve been hesitant to buy the traditional snack cup because I know my 21 month old would figure out how to dump everything out in no time!

If we don’t win, though, we’ll probably buy one anyways.

Yay for giveaways!

68. Megan [10/07/08]

Oh, I’ll fill them with Cheerios because my husband has a Cheerios phobia.  Yes, I’m evil.  Yes, he’s weird.  :)

Cheesy Quackers or Cheesy Bunnies.  Can’t get enough of them!

70. Megan Schell [10/07/08]

Thanks for the giveaway!  I think my little one would eat boring old cheerios out of it.  Of course the cup will make those ol’ cheerios not so boring anymore!

71. Christi Nail [10/07/08]

Best Snack Container Ever!

We stocked the one we ordered on your recommendation with Cheerios! A. was unable to shake the Cheerios out--unlike the other snack holder that resembles a margarine tub with a sliced open lid.

Now we just need a few more to fill with goldfish, dried fruit, or veggie sticks.

72. Anna [10/07/08]

Megret

Good ole Cheerios! =)

165. Carrie S. [10/08/08]

I subscribe to the constantly changing trail mix philosophy.  As the snack bowl gets low, I throw in a little of this, and a little of that.  Usually “this and that” ends up being raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, cashews, puffed grains, Annie’s whole wheat bunnies, or whatever other random things we have in the house.

197. Stacy [10/08/08]

Cheerios, cubes of cheese and cut up grapes.

198. clenna in NH [10/08/08]

One cup will have cheerios for the baby. The second cup will hold pieces of fruit for the big brother.

199. megan [10/08/08]

My little girl loves those gerber melt in your mouth treats.  I’d put those in there for her.

200. Kristina [10/08/08]

Definitely Gerber veggie puffs.  My daughter’s favorite.

201. Victoria [10/08/08]

Black beans! No, wait, maybe black beans and Trader Joe’s roasted corn. Ooh, yum! Yes, my ten-month-old likes beans and smokey corn. Go figure.

202. Steph [10/08/08]

I make a snack mix with a few different kinds of cereals (change it up for variety), raisins, pretzels, and peanuts (for the older ones).  We call it snack cup and even my husband loves to take some for work.  We would love to have real snack cups to put our snack cup in!

203. Brookie J [10/08/08]

Pirate’s Booty or granola...our 2 favs

204. CathyO [10/08/08]

cinnabunnies and grape halves. my 13MO’s favorite snacks.

206. Robyn [10/09/08]

I never win these, but what the heck?!
My son now loves “seed crackers” which are Indian fried lentils. They’re even vaguely nutritious!

207. Leigh [10/09/08]

I’m Canadian and therefore not eligible, but can anyone tell me if these are available in stores?  I am trying to get on the Munchie Mugs website, and it appears to be down…

208. Tricia [10/09/08]

Dried Apple and Raisin mix in one for my toddler(she thinks it’s candy.

Cheerios in the other for my baby.

209. thefreakofnature [10/09/08]

I would put in a mixture of Annie’s bunny cereal and Kashi shredded wheat cereal.

210. Christine [10/09/08]

I will fill them with Annie’s bunny cheese crackers and, of course, cheerios!  Can’t get away from the cheerios!

211. Stephanie [10/09/08]

Annies Bunnies (Whole Wheat or White Cheddar) in one and Oatios in the other! Thanks.

Teddy Grahams and Cheerios!  My little one is allergic to milk and soy, but these pass the test! :)

218. anjii [10/09/08]

Heinz Nutrios… they look like Cheerios but the ingredient list is even healthier.

219. Barb [10/09/08]

Whole Grain Goldfish Crackers......I like them and so does my son!

220. zynnia [10/09/08]

probably whole grain goldfish or annies cheddar bunnies.

221. Erin [10/09/08]

Peanut butter balls cereal!  They fall right out the the current snack trap we have!

222. blima [10/09/08]

Kashi cereal and WW pretzels

223. Mirella [10/09/08]

The Munchie Mug would do a great job holding some Annie’s bunnies!

224. Grace [10/09/08]

Whole grain goldfish!

225. Linda [10/09/08]

What about small cut up grapes?  Otherwise it would certainly be used for cheerios.

226. Jennifer [10/09/08]

My little ones love Annie’s Bunny Grahams.  Those will definitely be the first to go in!

227. Sarah [10/09/08]

chocolate rice cakes

Grapes followed by cheddar bunnies or cheerios.

232. Chandra [10/09/08]

Cheddar Bunnies or O’s.  Thanks for the chance at the awesome prize!

233. saraG [10/09/08]

First thing going in there is a bunch of fresh green grapes. This seems like a good way to keep them from spilling, and also to keep them from getting squished!

234. Mei [10/09/08]

A mix of cranberries, raisins, assorted dried fruit and Cascadian O’s.

235. Debra [10/09/08]

My daughter would probably vote for baby goldfish, and my son for Annie’s chocolate bunny crackers.  Those are the favorites in our house these days!

236. Sharon [10/09/08]

Cheerios or Goldfish!

237. Noreen [10/09/08]

Gorilla munch in the munchie mug
the second will be puffins, they like them as a snack more than with cereal

238. Kari A. [10/09/08]

I would put the Gerber Graduate Star snacks in them… Those little suckers get everywhere!!

239. Deb HT [10/09/08]

My son loves a multigrain corn/flaxseed flakes. He loves them because they are so crunchy. I love them because I know they are good for him. But-he seems to get them everywhere when he eats them. If I had one of these snack holders I could give them to him the car-how fun!

240. erica s [10/10/08]

organic cheerios of course!!

241. Aura H. [10/10/08]

My twins are just starting finger foods so probably some avocado and cheerios.

242. Maria [10/10/08]

My 9 month old is in love with Gerber puffs.  I would mix up all the flavors and stuff them in a Munchie Mug!

243. Robin C [10/10/08]

We snack on so many things these days, but I would love to put quartered grapes and cereal in there first.  It is very hard to feed squishy foods on the run.  Thanks for finding these.

244. Dana [10/10/08]

i gotta admit, the babe likes the cheerios.  I’d say cooked carrots but they might get kinda mushed.  She hasn’t quite got control of her strength yet.

245. Rhonda Finberg [10/10/08]

Our twins love so many foods, but the first food to grace these snack holders will probably be dried fruit from Just Tomatoes

246. Hannah P [10/11/08]

Apple slices and raisins. My daughter LOVES them but can’t seem to keep either one from flying everywhere! Thanks!

247. Rebecca C [10/11/08]

248. Hillary Vande Kieft [10/11/08]

My boys love cereal and more cereal!

249. Jamie B-W [10/11/08]

We would fill it for lunch on the run......cut up cheese, crackers, and raisins.  It would be great to know that I wouldn’t be digging dried up cheese out of my little A-man’s car seat.

Gerber Cherry Puffs my little one loves them
